CANTEEN RULES
Policy
It is the Program of Elgin Post #57 that the use of the Canteen shall be available to all members of the Post and its affiliated organizations in good standing, together with their guests.
Management
Management of the Canteen, including use of all related facilities, is vested in the Canteen Manager with the cooperation of the Canteen Committee.
Penalties
Violations of Canteen Rules shall result in loss of Canteen privileges, subject to appeal to the Canteen Committee.
Rules
- All persons using the facilities shall conduct themselves in a manner becoming ladies and gentlemen.
- No one shall wear hats or caps (including uniform) while at the bar.
- Dogs and pets shall not be permitted in the Canteen.
- Members shall be responsible for the conduct of their guests. Guests are limited to three visits.
- At the discretion of the Canteen Manager or the Bartender on duty, any person visibly under the influence of liquor shall not be served.
- Minors shall not be served alcoholic beverages. Children are not permitted to be seated at the bar.
- The use of profane language is positively prohibited.
- Abuse and destruction of Canteen property is forbidden.
- All card games shall be restricted to the Card Room. Gambling of any type is strictly prohibited in the Bar. Canteen Committee shall have control of card games within the facilities.
- The Canteen shall be open to members at such hours as may be determined by the Canteen Committee and shall be closed at 12 pm on all days except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This rule may be modified by the Canteen Committee for special occasions. Friday closing 1 am, Saturday closing 1 am, Sunday closing 6 pm. In the absence of the Manager, the bartender in charge shall enforce the closing hours.
- Last orders for beverages shall be taken 20 minutes prior to closing.
- No person other than members of the Canteen Committee or persons having particular duties to perform shall go into the kitchen or behind the counters or bars.
